You might find him hiking the backcountry of Glacier National Park, canoeing the lakes and rivers of Northwest Montana or camping anywhere in Montana's vast National Forest. Wherever you find Glenn Swanson he will be intently focused on the wildlife around him.
Never far from his camera, sketchbox and portable easel, Glenn says he can't imagine a better life. And if people enjoy his interpretations of what he sees that's the icing on the cake.
Glenn's work includes all types of wildlife, but his specialty is realistic portrayals of birds in flight. Glenn says "I am fascinated by the action and envy the freedom that birds have in being able to fly"
The media Glenn works in may vary from one project to the next. Although the majority of his work is cast in bronze, he also does woodcarvings, paints in oil and sometimes combines painting and sculpture into exciting new formats.
So if you find yourself in Northwest Montana near Glacier National Park give him a call and stop by his studio, meet Glenn and see some of the work he is doing.
